Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (and a Peppermint Bon Bon)

Becoming Domesticated

Zara Home on-line just landed in the United States this morning!

If you are familair with Zara, it is a European fashion retailer who has a home division as well.  I’ve shopped in their fashion stores before in both New York and Belgium and found them spartan with the fashion providing a lot of color.  Their home division, I see a stronger nod to textures and patterns rather than color.

When you have some time, check out their on-line store.  In the meantime, here are some items available…

Smith & Kerns

Whenever I would order a Smith & Kerns, those around me would ask what it was.  I never had an answer to that question, because I hadn’t taken the time to find out the ingredients.  However, I had to look it up as I was asked to recommend a cold dessert drink.

Basically, I refer to it as “White Russian Light”, as I find White Russians to be too strong for someone as light of a drinker as me.

2 ounces of Kahlua

2 ounces of cream

1 ounce of Coca Cola

macadamian nut for garnishment (optional)

Fill a highball glass with ice.

Pour the Kahlua and cream in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake.

Strain into the highball glass.

Add Coca Cola and just stir once.

Drop nut as garnishment if desired and serve with a straw.
