It is a tradition in a particular family to hire me as their wedding planner. Although I don’t really do weddings anymore, I made an exception for the family.
Just over eight weeks before the wedding, we made the bold decision to move the wedding, as the St. Paul venue was experiencing flooding and I couldn’t be sure that the repairs would be done in time for the wedding.
We quickly shifted to Spill the Wine and was extremely impressed by the level of service and their ability to do family style dinner service (not every caterer has the capability of doing this).
Despite working on a tight budget, the wedding turned out exactly as the clients wanted it. La Vie Photography did a great job capturing the look put together by The Style Laboratory, Summer Harsh Botanical Artistry and Apres Party & Tent Rental, as well as the dancing to Instant Request. And guests enjoyed pies and cakes from Country Cake Cupboard.
The book themed wedding started out with Save the Date “library cards” and the invitations were about telling their love story.
And they lived happily ever after.
I’m going to admit that the color purple scares me with events, as it can come across very cheap if you aren’t careful.
However, the purple explosion at Le Meridien Chambers Hotel had the opposite effect. You know you nailed it when the client walks into the space with wide eyes of delight.
Generation Photography did such a beautiful job capturing the feel of the space. When I told Summer Harsh Botanical Artistry that I wanted to go with phaleanopsis orchids, there was hesitation as the orchids are bloody expensive. But as the room came together, the floral with the linens and the ghost chairs from Linen Effects just worked well. Add the lighting from Instant Request, and the intimate event had a finished feel to it.
The clients toasted with wine as well as the signature drink, Passiontini. I’ll drink to that.
Thanks to Brenda and Margie from D’Amico Catering making sure that the event executed flawlessly. And thanks to Chef Jack Raben for nailing the food, spot on!
Spring was definitely in the air at the Walker Art Center for this intimate corporate event. The apple blossoms really did give a sense of the warm weather coming upon us.
