Conservatively Chic

I was given the task of creating a look that was conservative in a contemporary space with amber windows at The Guthrie.

Rather than try to neutralize the yellow, I decided to use the yellow as an asset and created a simple, minimalist design that still conveyed a conservative feel.

Thank you to Lauren B Photography for the great photos (and how she neutralized the yellow in the photos…I have no idea!)

I fell in love with the silver and yellowish-gold damask linen at Linen Effects.  Fresh and modern with the use of a conservative design such as damask.

Adding a bit of whimsy by using billy balls makes me smile.  Cheerfully understated (kind of like the florist, Summer Harsh Botanical Artistry).

When you have a view like this, it is important to use it as part of the design.  Gorgeous.

Silver Obsessed

I’m obsessed with these intricate silver overlays available at Apres Party & Tent Rental.  They are such a modern way to integrate a traditional and vintage touch to your event.

Whirlwind Wedding Weekend in Wisconsin

Doing weddings out of state can be challenging. There is definitely comfort in knowing that your vendors are just a quick phone call away and knowing the lay of the land.

Amanda and Nick decided to get married in the town she grew up in after considering all the venues in the Twin Cities. Since they have a large contingency of friends, it was challenging to find a venue that none of their friends have had a reception, so off to Stevens Point we went.

Normally out of town weddings can be a little challenging due to working in unfamiliar surroundings. But traveling with lounge furniture, 270 chivari chairs, 40 table linens, uplighting, 200 plus vases, 300 plus candles and an office set-up (command central at the hotel included my laptop, laser printer, paper cutter, and reams of paper because you just never know what might happen). And Kristi from Pazzobello was nice enough to make the seven hour round trip to do the flowers!

But I was quite pleased with the end result and Richard from A Picture Wedding was nice enough to send me a handful of photos to tied me over until I get the rest of the images.

Congrats Amanda and Nick!
